Piano Sheet Music for Teachers
Piano teachers are always looking for more sheet music. You never know when a student will make a random song request, when a struggling student will need supplemental music to help them learn a technique, or when a passionate student will beg you to give them more music to learn.
This is why I created MusicAndTheory.com, a place where teachers and students can find tons of downloadable piano sheet music to meet their needs. Every day our digital library grows, giving you more and more options for your teaching studio.
Here are three ways I would love to help you with your sheet music library for your teaching studio.
1. Go Digital with Instant Download Piano Music
Piano books and sheet music can take up a TON of space. To help you minimize your storage needs and keep everything organized, all piano sheet music here is available as an instant digital download. You can print it out only when you need it -- or don't print it at all and just view it on your tablet!
Having a digital sheet music library is so convenient when you need to access it and you don't have your piano books nearby, or you want to email music to a student.

2. Build Your Own Teaching Library
Figuring out your teaching curriculum is one of the most challenging parts of teaching piano, and building your teaching library is an essential part of that. You should have all your favorite resources within easy reach, ready to access at a moment's notice. Any piano sheet music you purchase here will be permanently a part of your library. There's no expiration date on your purchases; you keep them forever.
Lately, teachers have been asking me for custom music arrangements. I'm happy to create an arrangement or new composition that's specifically tailored to your needs (or the needs of your student). I may also be able to give it to you with a Studio License (see more below) so that you can teach it to however many students you want!
3. Get Teacher Discounts with Studio-Licensed Music
Most sheet music is copyrighted, so you must purchase a new copy for every student who learns it. Some teachers try to get around this by photocopying, but this is generally illegal and prevents the creator from receiving their rightful earnings.
Fortunately, there is an easy and legal way to redistribute sheet music: by buying Studio-Licensed music.
Studio Licenses are special permissions given for teachers at an incredible bargain. They can be used for your entire studio, which means you can share copies of the music with any number of your own students. You can continue to make as many copies as you need for students in your Studio for however many years you continue to teach, and the license won't expire until the day you retire.
On the other hand, Single User Licenses (the industry standard) can only be used by one person (yourself, or the student you purchased it for). It cannot be redistributed, photocopied, or shared, whether for personal or commercial use.
Here's how a Studio License can help Teachers save money on sheet music:
This easy version of Für Elise is available for purchase here at MusicAndTheory.
You can purchase either the $3.99 Single User License or the $8.99 Studio License.
If you get the Single User License: You can give it to a student to learn, and this makes them the "Single User" and sole owner of the sheet music (not you). Your student performs it at a recital, where 2 of your other students hear it and now want to learn it. Legally, now you (or they) must purchase their own individual copies.
You teach for 30 more years, during which 15 of your students want to learn the same music. To teach it to all 15 students ($3.99 x 15), your final cost would be $59.85.
If you get the Studio License: You can give it to a student to learn, and you keep the license for the sheet music for your studio use. Your student performs it at a recital, where 2 of your other students hear it and now want to learn it. You can give them each a copy; neither you (nor they) will have to purchase it again.
You teach for 30 more years, during which 15 of your students want to learn the same music. To teach it to all 15 students, your final cost would be $8.99.
Because your initial investment came with a Studio License, you can freely teach it to any of your students even 30 years later!
Most of the sheet music and theory resources here at MusicAndTheory come with a Studio License. This special teacher discount could completely change how you shop for sheet music for your students and save you TONS of money in the process.
I hope that the piano sheet music you find here at MusicAndTheory will help you fill your studio library with Studio-Licensed digital downloads that you can share with your students through the years to come!
Thanks!
